IMBA Canada’s goals for 2008 are clear and timely. Your year-end gift of $35, $60, $100—or more, if possible—will help tackle these key projects:

• Fund Regional Staff in BC and Quebec that will allow us to give attention to special issues in these areas.
• Expand our Trail Solutions consulting program to put more trails on the ground.
• Gather at the biennial IMBA World Summit in Park City, UT, (June 18-21, 2008) which will draw more than 400 delegates from 17 counties-a gathering of mountain bike leaders and land managers.
• Continue to provide Canada-specific resources to assist in the creation of new trails, including the translation of more IMBA resources into French.
• Help local mountain bikers overcome the three primary obstacles to new trails: political opposition, lack of funding and government red tape.
• Defend mountain biking and natural lands.

IMBA Canada has momentum to build new trails, and keep existing rides open, thanks to a productive and successful 2007:

• Shaping mountain bike policy that will authorize mountain biking on Crown Land in BC, and allow us to ride in our National Parks.
• Changing land manager views in favour of mountain biking in places like Victoria, BC, Ottawa, ON and Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park, ON.
• Initiating a club insurance program that will help ensure that our 100 club affiliates stay involved in their local trails.
• Completing its 11th year, the famed Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew has tallied more than 500 IMBA Trailbuilding Schools, 5,000 km of improved trail, and nearly 1,000,000 hours of volunteer trail work in Canada and the U.S.
• Proving purpose-built mountain bike trails as a legitimate and effective recreation offering. Bike parks with terrain features and dirt jumps provide urban riding while similar projects round out riding destinations.

All of our work supports making sure you enjoy outstanding trails close to home and on your travels. Thanks to hundreds of riders who donate, we are advancing IMBA's mission. But let's face it, too many mountain bikers still can't find appealing trails nearby. IMBA Canada's work, and the work of our 100 local affiliates, is more important than ever.
